LENA visits the Wolmirstedt substation
On January 23, 2026, students enrolled in the “Fundamentals of Electrical Power Engineering” module visited the Wolmirstedt substation operated by transmission system operator 50Hertz. The excursion gave participants the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the theoretical content of the course through practical insights.
Excursion to Tesvolt in Wittenberg and FEV eDLP in Bitterfeld
Am 12.12.2025 unternahm eine Gruppe aus Studierenden und Mitarbeitenden des LENA eine Exkursion zu zwei interessanten Stationen im Bereich Batterietechnologie: Tesvolt in Lutherstadt Wittenberg und das FEV eDLP-Testzentrum in Bitterfeld-Wolfen.
Dissertation defense of M.Sc. Gabriel Maier Cocco
On December 18, 2025, Dr.-Ing. Gabriel Maier Cocco successfully presented his dissertation entitled “Contributions to Distributed Generation: Grid-Supporting Control of Multi-Source Grid-Tied Power Converters.” After passing the doctoral colloquium and receiving his grade, his tie was added to the display case alongside those of other successfully completed doctoral examinations.
Cooperation between the German-Brazilian Academy of Engineers (DeBraIA) strengthened
Delegation der Universität Magdeburg besucht brasilianische Partneruniversität UFSM. Im Fokus der Arbeitswoche im November 2025 stand die Vertiefung der strategischen Partnerschaft in der Elektrotechnik und die Konsolidierung des gemeinsamen Double-Degree-Masterprogramms. Ein neuer spezifischer Doppelabschluss-Vertrag wurde redaktionell fertiggestellt und wird nun rechtlich geprüft.

The 57th North American Power Symposium (NAPS 2025) took place from October 26–28, 2025, in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. Under the theme “Resilience and Intelligence in Future Power Systems,” the symposium brought together researchers, engineers, and industry professionals to discuss emerging technologies that will shape tomorrow’s power grids.
