OVGU’s NAO certificate adds the environmental, economic and social perspectives of sustainability to your engineering degree. It is open to students of all disciplines, and relevant courses from your own programme count towards it. 

The first edition of the Power System Dynamics Summit (PoSyDyS) 2026 took place from September 9–11 at Graz University of Technology, Austria. LENA was represented by João Pedro Cipriani and Yashwanth Akuthota. With around 100 participants, two opening keynotes, and 14 technical sessions, the conference offered a compact and highly focused setting on weak grids and converter-dominated power systems, with substantial overlap with ongoing research at LENA. 

On August 27, 2026, the members of the LENA Chair came together for the annual LENA Teaching Day, a time set aside to reflect on the Chair's educational activities. In the afternoon, the team moved on to StrandParX Cable Island at Neustädter See for the LENA Summer Party 2026, with footgolf and a barbecue.

As part of the SmartMES plus project, a technical visit was conducted to the NEXOGAS biogas plant in Ebendorf near Magdeburg. The guided tour provided valuable insights into modern operational concepts for biogas plants and their role in enabling flexible and integrated energy systems.

From July 19 to 23, 2026, LENA was represented at the IEEE PES General Meeting in Montréal - one of the world’s most important conferences on electrical power engineering. Christoph Andres presented two technical papers, including one that ranked among the top five percent of all submissions and was presented during the Best Paper Session. In addition, Prof. Martin Wolter chaired an international panel discussion on the impact of AI data centers on grid stability.
