LENA at the IEEE PES General Meeting 2023

26.10.2023 -

The IEEE PES General Meeting is one of the flagship conferences in the field of electrical power engineering, bringing together thousands of electrical engineers and scientists from around the world every year. The aim of the conference is to provide an international forum for experts to promote, share, and discuss various issues and developments in the field of electrical power engineering. This year’s General Meeting took place from July 16th to 20th in Orlando, Florida in the USA.

Our LENA chair was there with a delegation consisting of Prof. Martin Wolter, Mr. Eric Glende, Mr. Tahaguas Woldu and Mr. Martin Fritsch. Mr. Tahaguas Woldu presented a conference paper entitled „Fault Ride through Capability Enhancement of Grid-connected DFIG-based Wind Power Generation During Voltage Dips“, which addresses voltage dip handling during faults in wind farms. Mr. Martin Fritsch presented a conference paper entitled „Concept of a Split-Core HFCT with Air Gap Control for Partial Discharge Measurements“, which presents a novel concept for avoiding saturation in inductive partial discharge sensors during online monitoring. Both papers were presented in a poster presentation and discussed in detail with the international colleagues. Mr. Eric Glende gave a presentation with the title „Fast identification of dynamic voltage stability problems“ in the panel session „Speeding up dynamic security assessment“ moderated by Prof. Wolter. This session offered a lot of opportunity for exchange on the topic of dynamic grid calculation and was positively received by everyone involved.
