LENA at the ISGT Europe 2025 in Malta
The IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT) Europe 2025, organized by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) and The Foundation for Innovation and Research – Malta (FiR.mt), together with the IEEE Section Malta, took place from October 20th to 23rd at The Grand Hotel Excelsior, Valletta. The theme for this year’s conference was “Harnessing Innovation: Powering a Sustainable and Resilient Future”, and featured a record-breaking 866 participants.
LENA at IEEE PESS 2025 in Munich
This year's IEEE Power and Energy Student Summit (PESS 2025) took place at the Technical University of Munich from October 8 to 10, 2025. LENA was represented with four contributions and successfully presented its ongoing research work to an international audience of experts.
LENA Chairmanship of the IEEE PES Germany Chapter
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Wolter, who heads the Chair of Electric Power Networks and Renewable Energy at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, was recently elected chairman of the IEEE PES Germany Chapter. This group is the German branch of the internationally recognised Power and Energy Society (PES).
LENA at the PowerTech conference in Kiel
The IEEE PowerTech 2025 conference took place from June 29 to July 3, 2025, in Kiel, Germany. Under the motto “Advancing the Future of Energy Systems,” the event addressed the challenges and opportunities of the global transition to more sustainable energy systems. As the European flagship of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), PowerTech provided a platform for researchers, engineers, industry representatives, and policymakers to exchange ideas and promote innovation in the energy sector. Technical sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities opened up perspectives for a more sustainable energy future.
Dissertation defence of M.Sc. Marc Gebhardt
On 4 April 2025, Mr Marc Gebhardt successfully defended his dissertation entitled ‘Erweiterung und Vergleich von Leistungsflusszerlegungsmethoden’. The colloquium attracted experts from various institutions. After the successful defence, the traditional procession to the Otto von Guericke Monument took place.
