Dissertation defence of M.Sc. Marc Gebhardt
On 4 April 2025, Mr Marc Gebhardt successfully defended his dissertation entitled ‘Erweiterung und Vergleich von Leistungsflusszerlegungsmethoden’. The colloquium attracted experts from various institutions. After the successful defence, the traditional procession to the Otto von Guericke Monument took place.
M.Sc. Renata Rodrigues Lautert defended dissertation
On 27.03.2025, Ms. Renata Rodrigues Lautert successfully defended her dissertation on the topic of “Grid and system-oriented use of flexibility offers from energy communities”. The thesis was jointly supervised at the University of Magdeburg and the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Experts from Brazil and Germany took part in the colloquium. This was followed by the traditional walk to the Otto von Guericke monument.
Dresdener Kreis 2025
On March 19–21, the LENA team took part in the Dresdener Kreis 2025 conference at TU Dresden, joining research groups from Duisburg-Essen and Hannover. Highlights included electric arc demonstrations, research presentations by LENA PhD students Natalia Bastos de Sousa and Gabriel Maier Coco, and a visit to the Helmholtz Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf. The second day featured an underground tour of the historic Reiche Zeche silver mine. The LENA Chair thanks TU Dresden for the inspiring event and looks forward to hosting the next Dresdener Kreis in 2026.
Research visit to the UFSM in Santa Maria, Brazil
From February 24 to 28, the LENA team visited the UFSM in Brazil as part of the DAAD/CAPES-funded PROBRAL project. The focus was on the further development of the transatlantic co-simulation, the evaluation of initial results and the development of concrete application scenarios in case studies. Prof. Wolter and Dr. Dos Santos Ortiz also presented the planned German-Brazilian Engineering Academy (DeBraIA). The visit provided a valuable platform for scientific exchange and strengthened the cooperation between OVGU and UFSM in the long term.
Excursion to the substation in Stendal
On 28.01.2025, students and employees of the LENA were once again invited to visit the Stendal substation. For two hours, the history of the substation, current operational aspects and future developments were clearly explained. Such practical insights strengthen the understanding of the processes and challenges in the high-voltage sector and create an important link between studies and real technology.
