LENA at control room instruction in Aschaffenburg

31.07.2017 -

From the 24th to the 28th of July, the Chair of Electrical Networks and Renewable Energy (LENA) attended a training course at PSI (Products and Systems of Information Technology). The chair was represented by five scientific staff members as well as three students. PSI is a company that has been concerned with the development of software systems for more than 45 years. The focus is on the development and integration of software for energy suppliers, industrial companies and infrastructure operators, such as Control systems for control rooms. The latter had been the content of the five-day training course. The aim of this training was to get a comprehensive overview of the software as well as first insights into the operation of the individual subsections.

On Monday, an insight into system technology was delivered. In the two subsequent days, the focus was on data processing. First, all important functions and construction rules were explained. When working independently, the first own experiences with the system were gained. On Thursday, the trainer/ student system was treated in detail. The system-internal calculation software was presented on Friday.

The week had been very informative. The chair Lena is pleased that the knowledge they have gained can be applied, deepened and improved in their own prospective control room.
