Field trip to substation Wolmirstedt
In cooperation with the VDE University group Magdeburg, the chair of Electric Power and Renewable Energy carried out an excursion to the substation Wolmirstedt on the 27th of June 2017. Under the direction of Tamara Schröter and Marc Gebhardt, the group traveled to the substation, which is controlled by the transmission system operator 50Hertz Transmission GmbH. After an short introduction three employees led the group along the lines, busbars and transformers. Thus, students were given the opportunity to get to know both the technical and the economic tasks of a transmission system operator.
The field trip took place as part of the founding of the VDE University group Magdeburg. Therefor a barbecue was thrown for a get-together after visiting the substation.
The afternoon came to a great extent interest so that the VDE University group Magdeburg in collaboration with the chair of Electric Power and Renewable Energy focuses on further events.
