LENA at the Dresden Circle 2024

04.04.2024 -

On March 19th and 20th, the LENA team participated in the Dresdener Kreis 2024 conference in Duisburg. The group received a warm welcome at the Universität Duisburg-Essen, alongside other research groups from Technische Universität Dresden and Universität Hannover. The first day comprised four sessions for article presentations and discussions, involving approximately 50 researchers, who shared insights into their respective research endeavours.

Representing LENA, two PhD students delivered presentations on their research topics. Christoph Andres presented his master's findings under the title " Entwicklung eines induktiven Energieversorgungssystems für einen Teilentladungssensor." Renata Lautert discussed her doctoral research in the article titled "Modelling and Optimization of Transactive Energy Management for Microgrids." Later in the evening, the group went for dinner at a traditional German restaurant.

The second day featured a visit to the Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann (HKM) steel plant. Established in 1990, HKM has specialized in producing steel slabs for flat products and round steel for pipes. The excursion began with a lecture by specialists who provided insights into the company and its electrical infrastructure. Subsequently, the group toured the factory to observe various manufacturing processes and experienced industrial procedures.
