CV
Born in Wroclaw in December 1949 he made his PhD degree at the Wroclaw University of Technology (WUT) in 1977 and achieved his DSc degree there in 1985. Until 1992 he was University Lecturer and Vice-Institute-Director at the WUT. From 1991 to 1999 he was Private Lecturer and Co-worker at the University of Stuttgart. From 1992 to 1997 he was also Professor at the Insitut for Automation of Energy Systems (IASE) in Breslau. Since April 1999 he is Professor at the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg where he is the dean of the faculty of electrical and information engineering from 2002 till 2006. Member of the universities senate from 2002-2006. From 2006 to 2012 Managing head of the Institute for Electrical Energy Systems at the OVGU. 2008-2012 member of the universitires senate. Member of IBN, ETG-VDE, CRIS, Senior member IEEE-PES.
