Control center tour with specialists from the Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium
On Monday, July 4th, 2022, a working group on energy systems from the Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium came to visit our control center. Interested pupils from the 6th to the 11th grade and 2 teachers got to know the tasks of a grid operator in system operation. After a presentation by Prof. Martin Wolter and a demonstration by Christian Klabunde, the students were able to operate the system themselves and try to keep the electrical energy system stable. Rarely we do have such an interested group with a high level of willingness to take action themselves, and after the electrical network had been switched to blackout (only simulated, of course), the students were also able to stabilize the network with instructions.
We would like to thank you for the keen interest and look forward to seeing the pupils again as students in the Electrical Engineering course at some point at the OVGU.
