On March 19 and 20, the LENA team took part in the "Dresdener Kreis 2024" conference in Duisburg. The group was warmly welcomed at the University of Duisburg-Essen together with other research groups from the Technical University of Dresden and the University of Hanover. Among other topics, two presentations were given by OVGU and the steelworks of Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann (HKM) was visited.

On 12.03.2024 M.Sc. Martin Fritsch successfully defended his dissertation. This was followed by the traditional walk to the Otto von Guericke monument on the Alter Markt.

On 25.01.2024, students and employees from Otto-von-Guericke University were again invited to visit the Wolmirstedt substation.

The LENA Chair visited Mekelle University in Ethiopia from October 18 to 23 to research the integration of photovoltaic systems into Ethiopian grid structures. The DFG-funded project aims to adapt solar energy systems to the local conditions in Ethiopia, using German experience. It includes work packages on improving forecasts, developing grid concepts, system security and analyzing energy policy.

The IEEE PES General Meeting is one of the flagship conferences in the field of electrical power engineering, bringing together thousands of electrical engineers and scientists from around the world every year. The aim of the conference is to provide an international forum for experts to promote, share, and discuss various issues and developments in the field of electrical power engineering. This year’s General Meeting took place from July 16^th to 20^th in Orlando, Florida in the USA.
